indeed; we're probably the least attractive team in the league for potential signings

particularly from overseas:

relatively low salaries
poor location
unknown manager
reasonable chance of being relegated

I think for the forseeable future we will still have to take punts on players like RvW and Fer - players who have question marks but may hit it off or may not. Established big name players abroad will most probably have much better offers than us.

Unfortunately we also don't appear to have a very well developed European scouting network, so the chance of picking up a hidden gem is quite low as well.
