Just reflecting on another test where having lost the toss again on another flattish pitch we are likely to have to toil now for several days just to get a draw. Basically if you bat first in these pitches then you have to go some, or the opposition have to produce some magic from somewhere, to lose the game.
Generally im a traditionalist and against virtually any changes to established sports but it does seem that so many test matches are now so heavily influenced by who wins the toss or by home advantage that it might be worth looking at it. Perhaps the decision to bat or bowl should alternate between the teams and then they toss in the final game of the series if it's a three or five match series? Any thoughts?
