but if we had just signed 2/3 better standard players, we might not have stayed up due to having a weaker starting XI with a few star players, who could have been injured for long spells. When you're a weak team, it's a risky strategy to put all of your eggs in one basket, because if that basket breaks you're going to be left with a mess.
Signing those players has paid off in the long term, because it gave us enough momentum to stay up for two seasons, meaning the club is now financially secure.
Agree about the future planning with replacement managers though.
