they naturally assumed a national FA would give a CL winner (European Champions!) precedence over a team that have only come 4th (for instance) in their domestic league. How were they to know an FA would be as dumb as ours apparently is...
And I thought the stretcher thing was a FIFA innovation brought in first for a World Cup
