Interesting point about language

Given our national incompetence at foreign languages, I guess this is a significant barrier that isn't really their fault. It also helps to explain why players like Gerrard and Lampard don't bother trying to play in Europe and take the easy way out to the MLS. However, I really think it's accentuated when they know that, regardless of their performance level, they can return to the Premier League whenever they please, probably for a pay rise and certainly for the daily appreciation/ego-massaging of the press.
