I've seen that happen too. An engineer came round to fix the signal

cos of poor weather. He took one look at the box, and it was the same white box from 2001. He just went to his van and came back with a new box

At the time this white box recorded sod all cos the hdd. I don't know the what the new one was, but we were all recording what we wanted without it getting deleted
