Chileans are pretty pessimistic people in my experiences so far

the most optimistic they have been is probably before the Spain match in 2010 or after that 2-0 win v Spain last year but generally nearly all Chileans are convinced they will f**k it up somewhere along the way. Whenever they lose, especially if they have dominated a game, your average Chilean will say it is "typical Chile". Only the injuries to Gary Medel and Arturo Vidal stopped them winning that match v Brazil in normal time last year though. Hopefully Sampaoli has changed his view that penalties are just a lottery.
