1. Windows 7 was showing signs of sluggishness browsing folders, etc. Turns out this was early sign of a disk issue as last night it went off a cliff with v little notice, aside from above. I had started a process of using google drive anyway but this was incomplete. Anyone know a good recovery firm that can quickly and easily get stuff off it? Not much, mainly camera/phone backups, the odd document, etc. I don't really have much on it. Ironically I have a large USB key arriving tomorrow that I was gonna put everything on. I'll just use that if I can ever get back onto it. It wasn't booting earlier, can currently boot but can't call something or other when trying to login. (RC server??)
2. As I don't save much down to it and mainly use Google drive these days, anyone used Chromebooks as a viable alternative to windows? I really only use chrome and gmail 90% of the time these days anyway. The rest was office but I switched to trying to use Google docs a few months ago as my office license ran out. I'm going through pain right now but hoping I will adjust eventually...
Maybe I should just get a chromebit and shove it in my spare telly...when's that out??
Cheers
