I don't agree with that tbh

The older and more jaded and more exposure to Big Business I get, the more I just think all that any Government does is ride the economic wave as best it can, and that it's largely out of their hands.

It's not as though we've really had proper austerity (and Osborne has changed his own plans many times) or that either of the main parties are really proposing to spend very much more/less than the other.

The last crash would have happened regardless of who was in Government, and big economies always recover eventually. Labour may even have spent us into a quicker recovery? Who knows.

The next crash will also happen regardless of who is in Government. In a few years time, we may even be pointing to Help To Buy etc and saying "What the f*** were the Tories playing at by propping up an asset bubble? Never trust them with the economy again!".
