about potholes, NHS, schools etc. etc. Seems to be a distinct lack of understanding that tax pays for all these and much more. Three things Jim. One, if you watched Panorama regarding HSBC, some of the activities were indeed illegal and although some tax had been paid back when the perpetrators were found out, none were prosecuted. Secondly, regarding rich and poor. It's all very well making judgements about what is right and what is wrong in terms of taxation but it isn't good for a society when the gulf between rich and poor just continues to increase. IMHO that's not good for any of us. Finally, the reason we're in this financial mess, is not due to public spending, it is due to bailing out a morally corrupt banking sector. Unfortunately, both Tory and Labour seem to want us all to forget that.
