when it comes to trees anyway, sozzles.

If it's dangerous then the council might do something in extremis but if it's just loss of amenity value, you're buggered.

Do a whip round and offer to pay for a tree surgeon - most reasonable neighbours would be fine with that. Pretty sure cherry trees fruit better after a good pruning anyway? win/win.
