yep....

my colleague has just moved from ayrshire up to aberdeen and the company pays for winter tyres now as standard. He was the "test pilot" and puts them on mid December through till aboput March. Swears by them - though says def to change them back (works out cheaper as they're quite expensive and wear quickly)
