IMHO this is a great job for Phelan.......

He could go elsewhere with a ton of debt and poor/mediocre squads.

Everything is in place here for him to succeed plus we would probably be willing to spend in the transfer window if he feels we need improvements in certain areas.
Where as Adams has spent a lot of his time with younger players, Phelan has spent time with world class players. He will soon be able to spot what we need to get promoted.
