I would suggest that the idea when hiring Hughton was to have a manager more connected to

the academy, since by all accounts Lambert did not give a flying f**k about it.
Hughton spent a lot of time loking at the youths of course, but unfortunately it all turned to s**t under him so they had to find promote Adams too soon as you say. But to me it seems to me that there *is* long-term planning going on since surely part of the attraction of Adams as manager was to forge a stronger bond between the first team and the Academy, which has received a lot of investment under this board and is seen as being key to our future.

Other clubs have had a big headstart on us in terms of their academies because ours had been pretty much a failure for years until recently, judging by the amount of successful careers coming out of it
