Rauchbier is the Bamberg tradition.

In Germany it's hard to get outside northern Bavaria but that used to be the same for Weizen (wheat beer) back in the day - it was only drunk south of Frankfurt. Now you can get it in any bar in Germany and even on tap in Attleborough, ffs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rauchbier go the same way.
