But you cannot underestimate how meaningless playing budget and relative squad strength is when you have been failing and morale/attitude is poor. It's not necessarily an instant fix. Hughton took over a buoyant team and we developed punctures left, right and centre.
So let's not *both* oversimplify the issues here. I think Lambert is a very good manager and, whether I'm right or wrong, I don't necessarily think that what has happened at Villa over the last two seasons proves the opposite.
