Re Fer, we can only sell for what someone is willing to pay

For whatever reason, he's obviously in the 'sell if a good offer comes in' category, and QPR may be the only ones in the running.

Perhaps if we dragged it out until the 11th hour we'd get more, but ?8m on replacement player(s) is probably worth far less to us than ?9m or even ?10m sitting in the bank because we left it too late to do anything (or, even worse, we've had to panic buy someone and pay ?2m more because the selling club had us over a barrel).

I'll happily join the whinging if there are no replacements brought in, but I find it difficult to criticise the transfer fee in isolation when value is best judged on how the proceeds are re-invested.
