even if there had been someone behind him it would've been a s**t copout

and wasted a great chance.
Whether it's lack of confidence, lack of ability or whatever, he can't be in the starting line up (or even on the pitch imo) for these last 4 games.
he clearly doesn't have the temperament for the battle ahead
