A tactics question

Didn't see the match Sat. but apparently the diamond
formation worked really well. Now my question. Does
Ricky have the skills to play where Wes does? Not saying I
prefer him to Wes, but more could he play there? Is he a good enough passer around the box to be successful? Thinking more of next year if Wes moves on.
