I might agree with you if everything Hughton did didn't

Portray the image that he thinks all other teams have more quality than us.

Just for once could he not have said "yes they've made a couple of big signings but I'm concentrating on my team and I'm very happy with the strikers I have at my disposal already."

Instead he's bigged them up and at the same time played our strikers down.
