I can accept that he "deserved" another season

but our performances since the start of 2013 convinced me he was the wrong man for the job. The Luton game was the biggest warning sign. I mean, prem teams do get beaten by lower league sides in the cups, it happens, but AT HOME against a NON LEAGUE SIDE? Atrocious, regardless of the side we put out that day. People think that the game last night was bad, but Luton at home was a far bigger failure.

The Villa home league cup tie was also worse for me than last night's game, but I suppose that people were willing to gloss over that (to a point) because we were in the middle of a good run. Regardless, the signs have been there for a long time.

You make a good point about Hughton playing down our player's abilities and bigging up our rivals, it's elements such as that which have made me doubt him for quite a long time.
