but our performances since the start of 2013 convinced me he was the wrong man for the job. The Luton game was the biggest warning sign. I mean, prem teams do get beaten by lower league sides in the cups, it happens, but AT HOME against a NON LEAGUE SIDE? Atrocious, regardless of the side we put out that day. People think that the game last night was bad, but Luton at home was a far bigger failure.
The Villa home league cup tie was also worse for me than last night's game, but I suppose that people were willing to gloss over that (to a point) because we were in the middle of a good run. Regardless, the signs have been there for a long time.
You make a good point about Hughton playing down our player's abilities and bigging up our rivals, it's elements such as that which have made me doubt him for quite a long time.
