(Confirmed below as things he's already said at fans' meetings beforehand) were extraordinary in the case of a manager who's NOT been sacked, and even looks like being 'backed'.
I'd have expected a staunch defence of him - nope - or a decision to put him out of his misery - also nope. Above all, if McNally still had the power he enjoyed in Lambert's time, I would absolutely, categorically, have expected CH to be sacked by now. Instead, it feels increasingly like a return to the bad old days.
What happened when Lambert left? Why did such a fantastic manager - best in our history IMO, and a folk hero across the city and county - part on such bad terms with us? Why were they then bloody suing each other in the months that followed?
