He is very poor and whilst the way tann went about it was wrong his feelings on Malky were based on true facts. Malky spent a huge amount of Tanns money in the summer on some very average players. The main two that Tann was unhappy about were Gary Medel for ?11 million and Andreas Cornelius for 7.5 million who has not even managed to get a start as yet. Both players are on well over ?50k a week as well. Despite the pr game played by Malky and Ian Moody the tann felt the tactics and team performance was well below the required level given the outlay of over ?50 million in the summer. The football Malky played was negative and tactically poor. Malky' comments to the press that he needed 3 more players greatly angered Tann given the outlay in the summer and the fact thT ?7.5 million had been basically wasted on a player who Malky had not even given a start to.
Given the summer expenditure Tann expected better, scared by the Cornelius & Medel transfers he did not trust Malky to spend his money wisely and he did not think he was up to the job tactically. It is no coincidence that he has gone for OGS as his new man as he has a reputation for fast attacking tactically astute football, basically everything that Malky was not doing!
Malky, club legend that he is, is not what we need and it will all end in tears if we appoint him. I'm a Hughton outer but I would prefer to keep him than appoint Malky.
