as far as i understand it....

evans is better off keeping the debt in the club rather than bail it out by his own comany - - as that means taking liability into his pown personal wealth rather than "the club" - ie, he'd prefer to see the club go down the pan rather than his personal wealth and fortune/business (wise) - also, he will need a yard stick to measure the success of the board/manager - - and as we know football isnt all about points, its about wealth as well.... he pays a managment team decent salaries to improve the financial performance (directly related to on-field performance) - so would be mad to "wipe the slate clean!" - these things normally only happen in a hostile take-over when the bidding company are held to ransom to buy the club....
