But isn't it usually courteous to introduce yourself on new websites when you first sign in as a new user for instance.

Could we not just expect the same on here.

I know in the past occasionally a genuine new poster will appear and give a bit of background about themselves(nothing too personal of course) before being equally welcomed onto the forum/messageboard whatever

Surely those that don't do this tend to be the scum we all have to end up ignoring, it might make it easier to identify from the start the genuine new posters so they don't face such a hard time being suspected of troll like intentions
