I don't understand the farting around with a ?2m bid if ?3m is the asking price...
(not that I necessarily believe all the content of the story)
At the end of the day, to me, he's a ?3m player - that's not a big fee when you consider the "English tax" you typically pay on promising English players, we should just stump up the cash IMO.
