that's a case in poin though

Germany has only grown so strongly because of the Euro.

If they didn't have the likes of Greece and Italy weakening the strength of their currency, they wouldn't have been able to export quite so much as they would be too expensive.

So whether the Euro drags you down or not depends on from what perspective you are looking at it. Would we have been joining Greece, or would we have been sitting pretty with Germany and others?

(I suspect we'd have suffered due to our own particular problems, but the Euro is not necessarily a bad thing for all countries)
