I was actually just sitting here thinking about it!
The problem with the option though is you avoid being a trouble making but get labelled as a liar and I am sure bosses like liars as much as they like trouble makers. Plus as we have seen many many times, trouble makers still find clubs. Look at Woodgate and Bowyer for example and at our own club, Kenton was believed to be a trouble maker yet he found a new club and Francis too was hardly a model professional at the end of his time here.
I think your last point is nearer the truth. What really bugs me is that many of the accusations thrown at Worthington, the players and the club as a whole are total nonsense yet there are extremely valid reasons for some to want Worthington to go. The problem with all the stupid accusations is as Pants says it creates a reaction in the club of wanting to defend each other and stick together, it almost makes it them against us and thats not doing anyone any favours.
