Fucking "PC Help Desk And Support - we are the Technical Dept of MS Windows"

These people have called many times. Each time I tell them not to call back but they do. I have complained to TPS and (just) to ICO.

They say they're calling from PC Support and Help Desk or some such. I insisted to know where they were calling from and she said "california". She said "we work with microsoft". I'm quite certain that this is not true. She said "we are basically the technical department of microsoft windows" (sic)

She said they had "received notification that [my] computer has downloaded some junk infection and malicious programme"(sic).

I questioned this and in that questioning revealed that I have a degree of expertise in IT, at which point she hung up (they'll call back in a couple of weeks though they always do).

I suspect that they contact people who don't know much about how their computers work, which is most people, trying to persuade them that they've been infected with some kind of virus. I suspect that they sell them an "anti-virus" product which may well itself actually be malware. This is quite possibly a criminal operation; even if it's just a sales front for a kosher anti-virus program though, it's deeply irritating and very highly misleading. I know Microsoft; they don't partner with outfits like this.

My number is TPS registered; they have called multiple times and I have instructed them each time very clearly to add me to their Do Not Call list but they still call back.

Anyone else been hassled by these beakboys?
