theres been a British settlement there for over 200 years, that means there 10 generations of Islander. Although in the 18th centuary there were French and Spanish settlements living peacefully side by side with the main British settlement, eventually the Spanish and French left, leaving the Brits.... everything came in by ship from UK so they've been "Britisized" (just made that up - brilliant word!) for over 200 years..... hence their entire culture is British.
