Lola Rennt is not too bad - especially for views of New(ish) Berlin. Inventive way of telling the story too.

I assume you've seen Der Blaue Engel (Marlene in her prime) - don't think it's a great film though.

I think it was Russian, but years ago at the ICA I saw a film about a Russian soldier who escapes from the Germans to return to his comrades but they mistrust him and refuse to give him a gun - saves them all in the end.

I've been trying to get hold of Goodbye Lenin for a while, but the little slot in the DVD rack always seems to be empty ...
