We won that game in a way we would not have been capable of doing last season. I wouldn't want to see us play like that every week and hope that in the next few games we will look to have more of our own possession but yesterday the tactics were spot on and executed in a far more well drilled manner than we have seen before. Despite all their possession I don't really recall Ruddy having to make any difficult saves and we still created 4 or 5 decent chances ourselves. Hughton has also managed to get Wes playing off Holt in the hole far more effectively than the previous regime did. As someone said above one swallow does not make spring but there are plenty of signs of promise as there were in several of the earlier games. Having said that where Lambert was brilliant and brutally effective was in winning games against the teams in the bottom half of the table. Whether we can replicate that success (or get close to it) will be key.
