Legal advice - Any legal bods on here a all?

So my other half got sacked the other week for supposed underperformance in her role at a nursery.

Basically she had a word with the nursery manager about a member of staff there in her team (She ran the team). This member of staff (who had a rep for being hard to work with - as stated by nursery manager) was underperforming and basically unwilling to do much of what my other half was asking her to do in the room.

So anyway, the manager at some point had a word with the troublesome staff member, who then basically spouted a whole load of crap about things my other half supposedly hadn't been doing correctly, even though she is the most by the book and policy following person you can imagine. She does everything as it should be done.

So literally days later my other half gets called in to a meeting, told she's underperforming and that they'll decide with another meeting on the Friday...she has the meeting, answers a load of questions CORRECTLY, but they state that even though she's answered them correctly they don't believe she's being doing these things in her room...

Anyway, she gets sacked, which was a joke in the first place..

Today she's found out that the nursery sent out a letter to the parents of kids at the nursery saying that she left of her own accord due to personal reasons.

Is there anything legally she can do about this? Because it really takes the piss to send out a letter full of lies like that to parents when in truth she got escorted off the premises etc after being dismissed..

Anything she'd be able to do about this at all?
