If it helps Larry, this is what I've been doing, and it's not boring. I can't see me stopping my routine. I've changed and adapted into it
I've got a microwave bowl with a lid with vents
Pour a tin of soup into that, pour a lot of mixed frozen veg over the soup. Microwave for about 7 minutes
Mix some white meat into the soup if you want to get meat into the diet. White meat has very little calories. Pour some tabasco sauce in to enhance or hide tastes (tin aftertaste for example)
Microwave again for about 7 minutes
I call it a poor mans hotpot, even though it's quite expensive
Why it isn't boring? Check out all the flavours of tinned soup in different supermarkets. Asda's chilli beef is the bomb. Sainsburys chilli con carni is really nice
Baxters do a smoky bacon and veg. Chicken and veg is fine. Big soup curry flavour is nice
You can basically have the craved taste you want on any given day
That microwave meal is 500kcals too, low fat, covers all the food groups
For the rest of the day I eat fruit, including mixed fruit (sultanas, raisins etc)
Cereal bars at work (I don't really care for eating at work anyway)
Hope some of this helps
