with the best sprinter in the world were spot on. What was surprising was that none of the teams who didn't have a man in the breakaway (or indeed, even if they did they were highly unlikely to win) wanted to close it down. You'd never have seen that in the TDF because a pro-team director would've been in their ears giving them hell because even if you are against the fastest finisher you may aswell give your sprinter a chance rather than allowing a breakaway to cruise home when your sprinter has no chance. Where was the Cezch Republic for Sagan? Sagan's not as fast as Cav but what about if Cav gets involved in an accident near the end or mechanical failure. The failure to even throw the dice was very strange although the riders weren't in radio contact so no-one was calling the shots from the coaching staff as in 'normal' pro-racing.
