I'm still a bit suspicious of him putting so much time into some top time triallist though.
I know he performed at the Vuelta last year, but his results before that in grand tours were:
2008 stage 4 TDF 29K, 33rd
2008 stage 16 TDF, 53K, 16th
2009 stage 10 Giro, 62K, 34th
2009 stage 21 Giro, 14.5K, 32nd
2010 stage 16 Giro mountain TT, 39th
2011 stage 12 Vuelta, 2nd
that's a pretty sharp improvement.
I don't want to sound like one of these conspiracy theorists though, always harping on about riders on drugs. Just the recent history makes me a bit sceptical of riders showing sudden massive improvement (like Froome at the Vuleta) - obviously still want Wiggins to win, would be massive to have a British winner.
I'm going to the pyrenees next wednesday to watch on the Peyresourde... hopefully Wiggins will still be in yellow then.
