only bit I understood fully was the bit I've quoted, where he admits that realistically Holt only has 2 or 3 years left. So potentially 1 year less than he wants on Prem wages.

Holt might want 3 years, he may deserve them, but to hand in a transfer request because of not getting one is a shambles.
