He's been on an upward trajectory with City for three years.

Next season? It's going to be a LOT easier to take Villa ten places up the league than us. So his upward trajectory may well continue.

*PROVIDED* he doesn't come up against whatever nonsense ("lack of ambition"?) did for O'Neill.

And *PROVIDED* he has the budget to improve the squad as he sees fit (Fox and Zak on a free.. but are Villa fans going to jump at that?)

And *PROVIDED* the board don't react to early setbacks or defeats by putting other pressures or constraints on him.. or by sacking him before Christmas.
