Loved the three years with Lambert; don't see that he's done or said much wrong recently. He's a legend and I'll be proud to applaud him when he brings sides to Carra Rud -- and cheer when we beat them 3-0.
But if I take a step back and consider what he seems to be planning.. I cannot understand why he's going to Villa.
They *are* a "bigger" club in terms of capacity, history and probably fanbase.
BUT!
Lambert has been nurtured in a very supportive environment here: fans, players and especially, the board and executives. They've given him a platform to demonstrate what a very, very good manager he is.
Seems there's been a falling out with McNasty over player budgets.. well just you wait and see, Lambo, what Lerner and the Villa board have in store for you. They messed O'Neill around so much he walked.. f**ked up with McLeish.. came to you after messing/ missing out on Solskjaer and Martinez.. have sold key players without replacing them.. toxic relationship with supporters.. financial concerns.. short-termism.. owners with no history of supporting or understanding the game.. based a long way away....
.. and that's why I think Villa is the wrong place for him to go.
