We need to make several quality acquisitions in the summer

because next season we will need to be even better, and more canny even to match this season's achievements.
I have full confidence in Lambert et al to do the necessary business, although I am sceptical that there is enough quality in the 'lower leagues' to allow us to continue the policy of bringing in young hungry players.

Still, I'm pretty sure we won't be signing Finidi George, or his present day equivalent.
