My opinion FWIW (Glass overflowing)

We are now safe for this season and Lambert knows this. He has done for some time since the Swansea game. Taking 12 points from the other newly promoted sides this season has pretty much sealed our safety.
So now for next season and Mr Lambert is starting to look at his options and formations and prepare for next season. Whitbread and Ayala look good together, Ward good back up and R Bennet will be in the mix for a starting place if PL is true to form.
Sign Naughton on a permanent in the summer, Tierney back to fitness, give Drury another year and we also have Martin who can play anywhere across the back pretty much. The defence is probably another fullback short of being in place for next season.
Midfield is looking pretty good with the addition of Howson. We have ball winners, ball players, pacy wingers, wessi who can play in the hole with Bennett also able to play there as we have seen. If we can keep the midfield together we maybe just need a couple of options extra in a more combative DM to replace Crofts (who I think will get sold in the summer) and maybe another attacking midfielder with a bit of strength and pace.
This leaves the majority of his budget to be spent on Strikers. I think Jackson and Wilbrahamovic will be sold as well as C Martin and probably Morrison as well so we will need to bring in two or three strikers and try to keep Vaughan fit. The two or three strikers are going to be expensive as strikers always are but we will want another big player another pacy player and hopefully a striker who is a poacher in the box (a bit like Earnshaw but one who can actually score more than he misses)

All in all ecstatic that we have as many points as we do already which means PL can be planning for next season in the Prem already so that we can do it all over again.

Anyone who moans or boos obvioulsy has a very short memory and cannot remember Grant/Roeder/Gunn and the doomcaster dynasty.
