The problem with that rule

Is that it leaves the referee with no discretion. If he doesn't pull out the red card he'll be marked down for it by the assessor and possibly miss out on future top-level matches.

I have always thought that it was bloody unfair on the goalkeeper (And I'm a centre forward!). If he's made an honest attempt and missed out by a nadgers, surely the penalty is enough punishment?

Than again, I'm the sort that despises diving...
