Laptop advice

Am going to buy a laptop at some point in the near future although haven't started doing any research yet. Only looking for something mainly for web browsing/watching Norwich streams next season/burning CDs/DVDs. Won't be playing games on it unless I get back in to Football Manager a good 7 seasons after I last played it!

Any tips as to good machines at a reasonable price would be greatly welcomed. Or just things to look out for/brands not worth the money.
