Its the *perfect* cop out for the FA and they have fuelled the possibility of that happening in either leaking this story or happily twiddling their thumbs whilst it now, as it will, gathers pace, first online and then into the wider world. It also, as far as the FA will be concerned, balances their apparant quote/spokesperson claim made in "The Sun" earlier in the week.

That scenario is exactly what will happen. QPR get their promotion, FA wring their hands in despairbut say "nothing can be done about it" but that "lessons have been learnt"...

...and, when Hitchin Town or similar do something wrong they'll dock them 40 points, relegate them and then sit back and feel all important again.
