I think that's a fair comparison. Though when Martin broke into the team and started scoring, he was thought to be worth about 10m to other clubs, with manchester utd monitoring his progress

I think the same's happening, it's just Whickham hasn't turned 18 yet, and gone off the rails

I think I'd be more inclined to compare him to Carroll, cos it was said for years how good he was, or is going to be. Roeder tried to sign him for a 1m (so that's 3 years ago)

It's only been this season that he's started doing anything form wise

It's Ipswich at the end of the day, although I hope he's not there too much longer, then I can watch him as a neutral (kind of what guts me about Carlos Edwards being there, cos I've always liked him)
