Students Revolting...

I mean, come on-its all well and good the students (and all the anarchists pretending they are students) getting out there and protesting, making a bit of a song and dance about things, "hassling the pigs" and all that other good stuff, f**k knows we don't protest enough in this country...

But do they really, REALLY think, for one moment, that it will make a difference, cause a change of policy, a revision of the Coalitions attitude and approach to education, fees, and everything else?

Nope. If anything, its going to harden their stance and make them (the Coalition) even more determined to weed out and cull the student population as a whole, which is the objective of these policies anyway. In other words, the politicians have lit the fire, now the intended subjects are providing the fuel.

Yes, this is a Coalition Government, but the last Tory one saw off the Miners, so a group of 6th formers and 19 year olds in long coats aren't going to do anything (just as all the protests I went on when I was at University never came to anything!).

Thats a tragedy in itself, in that you can protest and make your voice heard-but nothing will come of it. And my sympathies and support, if not directly with them, lie in the death of protest being an effective tool for change.
