Internet speed help required

Right here goes..

I live in the sticks so my internet is slow. I am on the package that allows up to 8Mb/s from sky. I have done a speed test and I am getting 0.8Mb/s.

Is there any way of testing the line to see what speed I should be able to achieve, so that I can tell if its just because I'm in the sticks or whether its a Sky problem.
