Russel Martin and McNamee were 'emergency' loans because that all we could do between transfer windows

Leon Barnett was signed on loan while the transfer window was open and so a loan serves no advantage in the way that it did for either Martin or McNameee

however, it may be that the loan is acting as an extended trial for both the player and us and that we may have already negotiated a price for a permanent transfer should we find we want to keep him, but then again there may not be.
