I come from quite a big. established farming family
out South Walsham/Upton way. My mum, who's now 84, was telling me only the other day that the whole A11 was meant to be duelled years ago - 40 -50 years ago - but a powerful farming lobby in Norfolk just didn't want it to happen. They just didn't want people to come to Norfolk period, industry or not.
That kind of ties in with what I've heard over the years.
