Suspicious of any "I've had a baby" story that doesn't include the baby's birth weight.

Because you just try to stop any new parent telling you how much their new baby weighed at birth. Can't be done. It's like an Immutable Law of the Universe. New parents always tell you how heavy their baby is, as if it is assumed that everyone is interested. Nine pound four? yes that's fascinating, thanks.

So, no baby weight, well, good chance it's made up.
